error in DOCTYPE?

I'm not sure but there is perhaps an error or an approximation in your
example of DOCTYPE use in "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/#docconf".

I think that you may write
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd" rather than
"DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd" in your examples (same thing for Transitional
and Frameset examples).
