XHTML Working Draft--removed element types

In the XHTML draft, section "4. Differences with HTML 4.0", there
is no mention of element types removed from the DTDs. In particular,
the following element types there were declared in the HTML 4.0
Transitional DTD are not declared in the XHTML 1.0 Transitional DTD:
	dir
	isindex
	menu
	strike

I realize all these elements are not in the strict HTML 4.0 DTD, but
people will be comparing the HTML 4.0 Transitional with the XHTML 1.0
Transitional, and it seems wise to list removed elements under "differences"
in the spec if in fact these element type declarations are removed.

At this moment, I cannot access the Web and the TIDY program, so I cannot
check how it might handle these four element types when converting an
HTML 4.0 Transitional document into an XHTML 1.0 Transitional one, but
especially if it doesn't automatically handle these elements, a comment
about them in this document seems quite important.

Since this DTD is just supposed to be an XML-ized version of HTML 4.0 as
witnessed by the comment at the top of the DTD:

This is the same as HTML 4.0 Transitional except for
changes due to the differences between XML and SGML.

I would actually prefer to leave these element type declarations in the
XHTML 1.0 Transitional DTD. That is, my preferred solution to this issue
is to put declarations for these elements back into the XHTML 1.0 Trans. DTD.
