The 2012 f1040.pdf file that was here: www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/ has some xfa: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XFA parts. Those parts are extractable with the help of: http://api.itextpdf.com/itext/com/itextpdf/text/pdf/XfaForm.html However, I've no viewer for the extracted .xml files. Is there some translator, using, possibly, XSLT, to some sort of xform files that can be viewed by, for example, the firefox web browser? TIA. -regards, Larry BTW, Attached are two of the extractions from the xfa file (after modification by xmllint). The first looks like it specified the layout, the 2nd looks like it specified the data.
