Gary, I'm not sure what the other way is that "big guys such as Oracle, IBM and Novell" are going. While I'm unsure of Oracle's position on open source versions of XForms, I know they are committed to interoperability, and of course IBM and Novell are contributing heavily to FireFox's open source XForms implementation. At Xerox, part of my job is testing compatibility with Firefox and other commercial implementations. I'll be expanding that role to include FormFaces, Chiba, and Orbeon, and probably including the new DENG refactoring when it looks like Claus and company could benefit. So, please if you do get notes from me on compatibility issues, keep in mind the goals we all have of interoperability and ease of adoption by users. Thank you, Leigh. -----Original Message----- From: www-forms-request@w3.org [mailto:www-forms-request@w3.org] On Behalf Of Sikora, Gary Sent: Wednesday, November 02, 2005 8:01 PM To: Jasper Bryant-Greene; Erik Bruchez Cc: www-forms@w3.org Subject: RE: New To Do Lists example online ... While there are open solutions such as FireFox, Chiba and FormFaces, the big guys such as Oracle, IBM and Novell are going the other way. How can we fix this? Very respectfully, Gary Sikora
