Hello everyone, If you interested in the future of rich client software and web applications, then you may find the following useful. A preview is available of formsPlayer 2.0 and the Sidewinder Web Applications Viewer 1.0: <http://www.formsPlayer.com/download/swviewer-install.html> fP:2.0 should not affect formsPlayer 1.x installations in any way (they should exist side-by-side), but if there are problems please let us know. SAMPLES Sample applications are: * a digital clock; * a calculator with 'aqua' buttons and a 'brushed metal' background; * three analogue clocks showing different time zones. All source is XHTML, so you can examine the code and start to alter it, if you are interested. FEATURES The Viewer supports: * validation of loaded documents against a schema that includes XHTML 1.0, XForms 1.0/1.1, SVG 1.0 and MathML 2.0; * mixed namespace documents without the need for object tags; * docking to an edge; * auto-hiding on losing focus, and re-activation on mouse-over; * transparent background so that applications can sit over the top of others; * opacity, so that other applications can 'show through'. Plug-ins are required if a document contains one or more of: * SVG * XForms * MathML Plug-ins supported at the moment are: * Adobe's SVG Viewer, for SVG 1.0; * formsPlayer 1.3, for XForms 1.0; * formsPlayer 2.0, for XForms 1.1; * Design Science's MathPlayer for MathML 2.0. formsPlayer 2.0 supports: * an implementation of XForms 1.1; * an almost complete implementation of XBL 1.0; * new submission methods, including access to any ADO database; * side-bars and toolbars in the browser; * system tray messages. BUGS There are some bugs in fP:2.0, so we would not suggest at this stage using it for more than the preview. However, we should very quickly be moving to a beta stage.
