Jim R. Benfer Jr., When you joined the XForms public mailing list (www-forms@w3.org), you have sent an email to www-forms-request@w3.org with the word subscribe in the email subject header. Now that you want to unsubscribe from this mailing list, you naturally should send email to the same address with the word unsubscribe in the email subject header. This procedure was sent to you when you joined the XForms public mailing list (www-forms@w3.org), and this information is available on the W3C XForms home page (http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/Forms/#email). If one is not satisfied with the information provided on this mailing list, or is missing the importance of XML, one should just unsuscribe from the list and avoid insulting and useless statements on the mailing list. I would expect from someone like you running a number of Yahoo Groups sites, to show more tolerance. Regards, Thierry MICHEL Staff contact for W3C XForms WG. . The XForms Public Mailing List www-forms@w3.org http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/Forms/#email ----- Original Message ----- From: Kevin Garvey To: info@maxframe.com Cc: www-forms-request@w3.org ; www-forms@w3.org Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2002 1:08 PM Subject: Re: REMOVE, REMOVE, REMOVE - XFORMS IS GARBAGE Mr. Benfor, The 'X' stands for extensible. Extend the analysis of the data so it can be uniquely identified. The 'M' represents meta, an isomeric relationship where identical elements are elegantly divided by structural arrangement. The 'L' stands for long lasting, meaning it will be here today and tomorrow. XML is or will be the lingua franca and XForms represents the next evolutionary step. By splitting the interphase into three parts - data model, instance data, and user interface - it separates presentation from content, allowing reuse, device independence and a reduced need for scripting. The operating system will become irrelevant when information can be easily parsed to any appliance, device or language in real time. Isn't this what we've all been working for? If you wish to be taken off this list send a blank email to www-forms-request@w3.org with a subject line of "unsubscribe". Please stop littering this list with useless information and argumentative statements and attacks. ===================================================== "Life is not a punishment, not a task, but a gift.
