This is a good discussion --thanks to the initial poster as well as yourself for your careful reading of our working draft. We decided to go with a generic select-one vs select-many selection elements --i.e. categorized based on functionality -- and kept the presentation --listbox radiogroup pulldown etc as an orthogonal dimension (expressed as an attribute) to allow maximal client flexibility -- this means that a client device with a small display area can choose to use a pull down in preference to a long display list etc. -- Best Regards, --raman ------------------------------------------------------------ IBM Research: Human Language Technologies Phone: 1 (408) 927 2608 Fax: 1 (408) 927 3012 Email: tvraman@us.ibm.com WWW: http://www.cs.cornell.edu/home/raman PGP: http://cs.cornell.edu/home/raman/raman.asc Snail: IBM Almaden Research Center, 650 Harry Road San Jose 95120
