Hello, I was just reading the XForms draft specification as was wondering if anyone has considered a previous CODASYL and ISO standard known as the Forms Interface Management System (FIMS). Although originally designed for terminal-independent forms, the standard incorporates many desirable features: clean separation of form data from presentation, multiple layouts, Independent Form Definition Language (IFDL), field modification tracking and mapping, the use of 'packets' for communicating between an application and the form control system (FCS), and more. Thanks, Gary
