XForms WG Resolution:


We have launched an XForms Basic task force to ensure that dependencies on
other specifications do not hinder adoption of XForms. The messages on this
topic are in the public archive at www-forms@w3.org. We have also factored
out the XLink dependency, which you specifically highlighted. We are also
actively working with the HTML Working Group to define a combined
XHTML+XForms profile, which has the desirable side-effect of identifying all
the necessary integration points.
