Dear Werner Donné: Your comments [1] on the www-forms@w3.org mailing list about the XForms Last Call Working draft [2] were forwarded to the XForms Last Call mailing list [3] have been captured as Last Call Issue 82. Please respond to state whether you agree with resolution below. Thank you, Leigh L. Klotz, Jr. -------------------------------- XForms WG Resolution: Please refer to the XForms Schema recently published [4] for the following discussion. I. In order to help the web transition, we have included support for existing HTML and HTTP features as requested by public feedback. II. The model submission element in not required by the XForms Schema, and the xforms-submit event is available for event-based processing of submission. III. XForms provides read/write for DOM access through IDL interface definitions, though how these interfaces are exposed to the user agent is implementation specific (i.e., ECMAScript functions, etc. are not defined in the XForms specification). IV. We moved the details of serialization and submission section a new section, and now use the submission action URI and the submission method attribute to control the serialization and submission of the instance data. The method is defined as a union of QNames, with the XForms namespace list being fixed and the other namespaces being open for extensions such as you descibe above. The mediaType and mediaTypeExtension attributes are no longer used.
