INVITATION TO JOIN AIS SIGSEMIS- BE PART OF AN EXCITING COMMUNITY
 
AIS SIGSEMIS is already serving Information Systems community for 6
months. During this period with limited resources and hard volunteer
work several interesting achievements have been accomplished:
 
==>    The development of our portal at www.sigsemis.org
 
==>    The expansion of our SIG Board and SIG members
 
==>    The publication of AIS SIGSEMIS Bulleting (Issues 1 & 2 available
for download from our portal
 
==>    The design, and preparation of our International SIG on Semantic
Web and Information Systems by IDEA Group (Inaugural Issue March 2005)
 
==>    The endorsement of Tracks in ECIS 2005 and AMCIS
 
==>    The endorsment of Special Issues in Library Management Journal,
The Learning Organization Journal etc.
 
==>    The preparation of Awards (shortly will be announced)
 
In the next year we are planning a number of new activities. 
 
==>    Preparation of First International SWIS virtual conference
==>    Publication of edited volumes (Encyclopedia of SW research,
Edited book, etc)
==>    Awards
==>    Tracks and Workshops
==>    Collaboration with other SIGs and Organizations
==>    New services, through our portal
 
 
You can support the activities of the SIG by joining as an AIS SIG
member.
This can be done in one of the following ways: 
 
==>    For AIS members: Go to the AIS SIG page
(http://www.aisnet.org/sigs.shtml  ) and join SIGSEMIS after log in with
your AIS username and password (10$ membership fees) 
 
==>    For non-AIS members: Go to the AIS membership page
(http://www.aisnet.org/join.shtml ) and select the SIGSEMIS option while
joining. 
 
 
In the next month in our portal site we will list only the registered
members of SIGSEMIS according to AIS SIG bylaws. Currently approximately
300 people have been registered as members of our online community at
sigsemis.org. 
 
Thank you for your continuous support. See you in one of our forthcoming
events. Next period (9/2004-8/2005) will be an exciting time for AIS
SIGSEMIS and our members. Join us!!!
