Subject: TIRC for MIRC: speaking scripts for mIRC
aloha, all!
like most of us, i use IRC constantly; on the windows platform,
i've been using mIRC for years, but i haven't been able to get it to
work as well as it used to...
thanks to a pointer from Michael Squillace, i've recently begun using
tIRC -- a set of scripts for mIRC that run either with JAWS,
Window-Eyes, or using the Microsoft SAPI engine in conjunction with
Microsoft Agent's merlin character, so the PC need not have a dedicated
screen reader installed -- all download info is available at:
http://www.talkingirc.org/tirc
it REALLY makes mIRC inestimably more useable, and is better than any
other script i've tried, used or created... it also helped to upgrade
to the latest release of mIRC (16 august 2007 - version 6.3)
installing and using tIRC is all pretty straight-forward, so, if you
need a better IRC interface on windows, or if you know someone who
does, you can tell them about tIRC and he or she can try it for
herself...
gregory.
