This resource is intended to provide practical guidance for current capabilities.



Currently for pre-recorded videos, is sign language provided in a separate video -- that is the main video with sign language overlay? Are there other ways to provide sign language with videos on the web?



John: The demo at http://bit.ly/ASLdemo has a checkbox (below video on left) that toggles a video with an ASL signer or a video without the ASL signer.

Is this available in any current media players?



John: Not that I’m aware of. I’m seeking funding to add this capability to a current player.

Is there a way not to do this -- if you've followed the advice throughout this resource? There is a captions file and the media player provides access to it. It would be available with the sign language version as well.



John: I apologize, but I don’t understand what you mean. The demo at http://bit.ly/ASLdemo enables signing with closed captioning.



I do think I'll mention in the page that some users will want both at the same time.



John: That is sufficient in my opinion.
