Editors, Here are some suggested updates to: http://www.w3.org/WAI/Policy/#Australia.. I believe these updates would be listed under the *Relevant Documents *section. I have pasted in complete text from the updates that I am making to provide you with links, dates and summary information. Regards, George -- George Joeckel, MS Web Accessibility Specialist WebAIM --------------------------------------------------------------------------- WCAG 2.0 Adoption *The Australian government ratified the UN convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) <http://www.un.org/disabilities/default.asp?id=150> in 2008. In November 2009, The council of Commonwealth, State, and Territory communications ministers adopted WCAG 2.0 in a communique to the Online and Communications Council (OCC). Together with the Secretaries’ ICT Governance Board (SIGB) the following timeline was established: - All Australian, state and territory government websites must conform to Level A by December 2012 (OCC).- All Australian Government agencies must conform to Level AA by December 2014 (SIGB). *The scope was comprehensive: “WCAG 2.0 conformance is required on all websites owned and/or operated by government under any domain. This includes external (public-facing or private) and internal (closed community) sites.” To claim conformance, websites were required to meet all five WCAG 2.0 conformance requirements <http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/#conformance-reqs>.National Transition Strategy *In 2010, the National Transition Strategy <http://www.finance.gov.au/publications/wcag-2-implementation/> set a “course for improved web services, paving the way for a more accessible and usable web environment that will more fully engage with, and allow participation from, all people within our society”. The strategy defined a timeline for three phases implementation of WCAG 2.0 from July 2010 through December 2014.*Supporting Guidelines *A range of supporting guidelines and instruction were provided in the 2010 Australian Government Accessibility Web Guide. Additional guidance is provided in the 2010 Disability Discrimination Act Web Advisory Notes from the Australian Human Rights Commission, and updated in Version 4.1 <http://www.humanrights.gov.au/world-wide-web-access-disability-discrimination-act-advisory-notes-ver-40-2010> in 2014.*The Digital Transformation OfficeIn July 2015 the Digital Transformation Office <https://www.dto.gov.au/about> “became responsible for whole-of-government web guidance.” The Web Guide <http://webguide.gov.au/accessibility-usability/accessibility/> was superseded by the Digital Service Standard <https://www.dto.gov.au/standard>. The DTO has created the Design Guides <https://www.dto.gov.au/design-guides> to help meet the standard. As of this writing the Digital Service Standard is in beta.
