Hi Jeanne, I just took a quick look and I note that some names are repeated many times and used consistently e.g.: Perttu John Ben Aosa Brin Lee Sasha Armand But some names are repeated but seem to refer to different people: George Betty It just leaves me with the nagging question: "Should I be paying attention to these names? (Will doing so help me understand and spot patterns in the document)" I get your point about single letter names. But maybe one syllable names? -Jan ________________________________________ From: Jeanne Spellman [jeanne@w3.org] Sent: August-01-14 9:55 AM To: w3c-wai-ua@w3.org Cc: WAI-UA list Subject: Re: UAAG 2.0 Personas We tried to do that a few years ago, and received a comment that we should have more diversity in the names and not repeat them. So Kim and I went through and changed names so there was less repetition. It does have the benefit of giving the impression of many, many people with disabilities. I don't think we should use initials (even though I really liked that blogpost) because it de-humanizes the use cases, IMO. I think the names are more powerful. jeanne On 8/1/2014 9:12 AM, Richards, Jan wrote: > Hi Greg, > > Just to be clear, I'm not saying we should move to those personas. Certainly the 26 examples Anne gave in her article--which was very well done, by the way--are not intended to cover the full spectrum of disabilities that we might need to include (e.g. users of speech recognition and software magnifiers). > > Greg > > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: Re: UAAG 2.0 Personas > From: Jim Allan <jimallan@tsbvi.edu><mailto:jimallan@tsbvi.edu> > To: Richards, Jan <jrichards@ocadu.ca><mailto:jrichards@ocadu.ca> > Cc: WAI-UA list <w3c-wai-ua@w3.org><mailto:w3c-wai-ua@w3.org> > Date: 7/31/2014 4:09 PM > Jan, > good point.
