In the current draft 4.2.3 Return Focus [former 1.9.7, before that 3.11.7]: At any time, the user agent can retrieve input focus from a nested viewport (including nested viewports that are user agents). (Level A) is so close to 4.2.2 Retrieve Focus [former 1.9.6, before that 3.11.6]: At any time, the user is able to retrieve input focus from a nested viewport (including a nested viewport that is a user agent).(Level A) as to not matter. so I did some digging and found 3.11.7 from http://www.w3.org/TR/2010/WD-IMPLEMENTING-UAAG20-20100617 3.11.7 Return Focus: Embedded user agents are responsible for notifying embedding user agent that focus should move back to it. (Level A) which didn't make much sense. I also found the following from the message http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ua/2011AprJun/0076.html 1.9.6 (Retrieve Focus) has been moved to 4.2.2, so the original at 1.9.6 should be deleted. 1.9.7 (Return Focus) has been moved to 4.2.2, so the original at 1.9.6 should be deleted. Recommend we delete 4.2.3 -- Jim Allan, Accessibility Coordinator & Webmaster Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired 1100 W. 45th St., Austin, Texas 78756 voice 512.206.9315 fax: 512.206.9264 http://www.tsbvi.edu/ "We shape our tools and thereafter our tools shape us."
