all the examples I have seen thus far talk about brush strokes and flying 
helicopters and the like and not free hand drawing.  One idea is to come up 
with language that gets the point across without hard coding an exception.

Some tweaking may be in order here, to get across the actual point being 
made for instance, taking out the except altogether and using a different 
approach before the end note but as it currently stands above, it seems to 
achieve the objective without compromise.
