I believe the MSDN search term for this is...

IHTMLElement::QueryService  to find a matching MSAA node.
Iaccessible::QueryService  to go the other way.

Most of my links to MSDN seem to be failing today, at least from inside.
I'll keep an eye open over the next few days.
