A draft of the proposed common glossary has been posted: http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/2000/12/unified-glossary This draft has not addressed our current issues related to equivalent and alternative. I have also sent a proposed list of requirements to Jason White the chair of GL, who is hosting the group: 1. How should the glossary be used? a. Is it just a informative reference? b. Is it obligatory for use in WAI documents? c. Are some terms obligatory and others not? d. How will guidelines use the document? 2. Review of current glossaries? a. Which terms are used consistently throughout all the guidelines? b. Which terms are used inconsistently throughout all the guidelines? c. What terms are only used in one or two of the guidelines? d. What new terms can be used to possible to reduce the number of definitions or to make definitions clearer? e. What are the terms that are easily confused? For example "style" means one thing Jon Gunderson, Ph.D., ATP Coordinator of Assistive Communication and Information Technology Division of Rehabilitation - Education Services MC-574 College of Applied Life Studies University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign 1207 S.
