RE: User Experience Guide for accessibility metadata 2.0 Second public draft available for review

Hi,

We plan to release the candidate release of 2.0 of the Accessibility Guide
for Digital Publications as early as Monday. The list of statements
presented to end users has been finalized with this release. It will be
translated to 37 languages.

We are strongly encouraging people to reference this draft and stop using
version 1.

Subject: RE: User Experience Guide for accessibility metadata 2.0 Second
public draft available for review

Hi,

I wonder if there's any word on timescales for further updates to
'Accessibility metadata display guide for digital publications 2.0'?

In light of the EAA June milestone, I'm handling a few queries about how
best to present accessibility metadata to end users, and I'm unsure whether
to reference purely the 1.0 version from 2021 or if there's any sense to
look at what's currently in 2.0. Are substantive changes still a
possibility, particularly anything that might otherwise conflict with
recommendations made in 1.0?

Thanks,
Nick

Dear WAI Interest Group,

I thought many would be interested in this draft. The European Accessibility
Act (EAA) requires distributors and libraries to expose the accessibility of
digital publications before the person buys the title.

We are circulating this widely in the publishing Community and would love
end user feedback as well.

Please feel free to circulate broadly

The W3C Publishing Community Group Accessibility Task Force is pleased to
announce the second draft of the "Accessibility metadata display guide for
digital publications 2.0." Indeed, the name has been changed to provide a
clearer understanding of the scope of the document.
This is an incremental revision and incorporates the valuable feedback
provided by you.
We are looking forward to your feedback on the second draft. Please provide
your valuable feedback on or before November 21, 2024.
