RE: Link labels

Hi Sarah, there is already SC 2.4.4 and 2.4.9 for link purpose that is more specific for links.  In terms of buttons - SC 1.3.1 could be used when SC 2.4.6 Headings and Labels are met by button text and visual association, but that visual association is not programmatic.  Use of 1.3.1 for button association is less documented in the understanding and technique documents though so we don't have as much formal guidance on that specifically.

In that case would you also fail buttons and links for which the text helping you identify their purpose is not programmatically associated under 1.3.1 please?
