Hey Patrick, I bring up SC 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions in this thread about placeholders just as I did 4 years ago on the Accessibility Guidelines Working Group. It was a side note that I made 4 years ago that led to the adoption of the note about placeholders not satisfying SC 3.3.2. I'm sure my contribution at the time was minimized by some as "off-topic" or "orthogonal." It wasn't then and it isn't now. I'll let others judge for themselves if there's value in perusing the previous discussion if they'd like to read the working group's email thread on placeholders, accessible names and the placeholder attribute as a sufficient label <https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-gl/2018JulSep/0219.html>.
