RE: WAI ARIA Rule question

I have not heard JAWS/NVDA speak button twice when role is used – I wonder if something else is going on such as nested buttons.

My biggest question is that should we mark something that fails aria rule. For example, overuse role button for a native button element. Overuse role link for a native link. Jaws and nvda announces those twice. Not happens with voice over
