Wayne, I absolutely agree with what Patrick has just said about the difficulties of persuading people to accept changes to established SCs. This is nowhere more noticeable than at the public comments stage of WCAG 2.2, where almost nothing in the drafted SCs seems to be changable no matter what anyone suggests. However the fact that people are now recognising this shows that we are getting there, however slowly. You can enjoy your retirement knowing that we will continue to improve. Hopefully we will also fix the issues you raise in time. And the other way of looking at it is - and I have said it before and will continue to say it - is that the single most outstanding achievement of the W3C is in achieving worldwide acceptance of the WCAG from Alaska to Australia and almost everywhere in between! Such support and consensus between countries is almost unparalleled. You have been a small part of that, particularly with your expertise. You can think of the part you played in that while you enjoy your retirement! Regards, Guy Hickling Accessibility Consultant
