Sudo Classes in unordered lists

All,

On a page I am reviewing they are using Pseudo classes to style the bullets for an unordered list. The Pseudo class is at the <ul> node level. Jaws is reading the styled bullet and then on the next line the text. If the class is removed. Jaws announces bullet then the text. The question I have is:

  * Do people think this is a screen reader problem or not?
  * How to address the issue so the screen reader correctly announces bullet -> text on the same line.
I don't see this as a failure of 1.3.1. comments and means of fixing are more than welcomed. I haven't tested with NVDA at this time.
