It depends on how important it is that your results are accurate. We only use real devices for functionality, compatibility and accessibility testing - we don't even use virtual machines because they cannot be guaranteed to behave exactly the same as a real system. I would not consider doing anything else for the type of work we do. Alternatives such as BrowserStack might be suitable for some purposes but you have no way of knowing if it's giving you accurate results. To me, it's no good being accurate some of the time or most of the time, but some people might be happy with that. Our testing team currently using "browse stack" simulator for functional testing. Looks like the Settings option is not either seen OR functioning on the devices through browse stack. Few questions - 1. Will device simulators provide access to screen readers as well? 2. Any experience with "browse stack" simulator? 3. Would you like to suggest any other simulator that works for screen reader testing? Or only the real device can help with this? Your advice, please?
