RE: colour contrast for custom radio button widget

What Katie is referring to is SC 1.4.12 User Interface Component Contrast (Minimum). You can learn more about it at the following link: https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/#user-interface-component-contrast-minimum

I am really excited about the newly proposed success criteria!

1.4.3 is only applicable to text. For WCAG 2.1 were are planning to add an SC for the contrast of controls.

Adam,

G174 discusses controls: http://www.w3.org/TR/2016/NOTE-WCAG20-TECHS-20161007/G174

A radio button is a control so the above would apply. If the radio button has text, then SC 1.4.3 and 1.4.6 still applies from my point of view.

Regards
Sean

Subject: colour contrast for custom radio button widget

Hi all ..

I am currently looking at a custom radio button widget.

The colour contrast of both the radio button border and its background, and the check with its background appears very low.

And the labels for each radio button are not clickable and a bit distant.

Can SC 1.4.3 extend to radio buttons or is it only applicable to text? And, if not, is there another applicable criterion?
