What Katie is referring to is SC 1.4.12 User Interface Component Contrast (Minimum). You can learn more about it at the following link: https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/#user-interface-component-contrast-minimum I am really excited about the newly proposed success criteria! For WCAG 2.1 were are planning to add an SC for the contrast of controls. If the radio button has text, then SC 1.4.3 and 1.4.6 still applies from my point of view. I am currently looking at a custom radio button widget. The colour contrast of both the radio button border and its background, and the check with its background appears very low. And the labels for each radio button are not clickable and a bit distant. Can SC 1.4.3 extend to radio buttons or is it only applicable to text? And, if not, is there another applicable criterion?
