Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG) 2.0 is a Proposed Recommendation

Dear WAI Interest Group Participants,

The Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG) 2.0 has been
published as a Proposed Recommendation at:
http://www.w3.org/TR/ATAG20/

ATAG 2.0 provides guidelines for designing web authoring tools that are
both more accessible to authors with disabilities (Part A) and designed
to enable, support, and promote the production of more accessible web
content by all authors (Part B). ATAG 2.0 was developed by the
Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines working group (ATAG WG).

ATAG 2.0 is a stable document that has successfully passed its
Implementation period as shown in the ATAG 2.0 Implementation Report. It
is the last stage before becoming a W3C Recommendation (W3C Standard).

Proposed Recommendations are published when there are at least two
confirmed implementations of each feature of the specification and it is
ready for W3C Membership endorsement. Proposed Recommendation and other
document stages are introduced in How WAI Develops Accessibility
Guidelines through the W3C Process at
http://www.w3.org/WAI/intro/w3c-process
