Universal Instructional Design Consultant.
 
Job Summary
The Universal Instructional Design Consultant advises faculty through
consulting and educational workshops on how to integrate principles of
Universal Design for Instruction (UDI) into digital course materials and
applications, advises campus digital content creators on best practices for
creating usable and accessible content, keeps the Chief Digital
Accessibility Officer (CDAO) position informed about the areas within
his/her span of its control, and responds to requests for information,
consultation and/or work product from the CDAO in a timely manner.



Key Responsibilities
Universal Instructional Design Consultant:
*	Develops Universal Design for Instruction (UDI) educational
materials, documentation, and as well as workshop training content for
faculty; including addressing accessibility issues and the use of assistive
technologies in course design.
*	Trains Academic Technology Design Team (ATDT) on UDI principles and
best practices to incorporate in their consultations with faculty on
integrating technology into course designs.
*	Provides UDI consultation to faculty, including auditing course
materials (includes course websites and course online documents) for
usability and universal design concerns, assisting in selection of
accessible forms of course content and materials, and assistance with
developing accessible content.
*	Collaborate with the Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Accessibility Program team to ensure universal design principles, best
practices, training, and tools are appropriate for faculty needs.
Outreach:
*	Works with ICT Accessibility Program team, OIT Technical
Communications & Documentation, ATDT, ADA Coordinator, and Disability
Services to develop communication and awareness campaigns to ensure that
faculty and staff are aware of their obligations to develop accessible
digital materials and resources to help them develop that content. 
*	Assists with the development of content for the online resource
center and communications campaign to raise awareness of usability and
accessibility of the digital experience at CU-Boulder, and educate campus
stakeholders on resources available to assist with accessibility and
usability concerns, and best practices for the creation of digital content.
*	As part of the ICT Accessibility Program team, assists in developing
guidelines and best practices for integrating universal design methods in
university programming that demonstrates a commitment to accessibility at
CU-Boulder.
Serves as a member of the digital accessibility governance and on the
appropriate teams for the ICT Accessibility ProjectWorks closely with other
members of the ICT Accessibility Program team to build a campus
accessibility community-of-practice that can serve as local and departmental
resources to distributed IT service providers and digital content creators.
