WAI list culture [important]

Dear WAI IG participants,

*Please ensure that your messages to the WAI Interest Group mailing list contribute to a comfortable, constructive exchange of ideas to advance web accessibility*.

Before you write a message, think about how it will come across to the hundreds of people on the list.
Please:
* Provide constructive information. Focus on developing solutions, rather than just complaining.
* Be respectful. Be positive. Be open to different perspectives.
* Avoid personal attacks, naming calling, and such.

Also:
* Make sure the information is appropriate for the list and addresses issues of web accessibility.
* Use a Subject line that describes the topic well. If you change topics, change the Subject. This is usually handled as follows:
New Topic XYZ [was: Old Topic]
* Explain the issue clearly. Provide sufficient background information.
* When your comments are not useful for the entire list, reply off-list -- that is, reply directly to the sender and do not send the message to the list.

If you have questions about whether or not a message is appropriate for the WAI IG list, feel free to contact me *before* you send it.

---

To unsubscribe from the list, send mail to w3c-wai-ig-request@w3.org with "unsubscribe" as subject. (This is not the same address as the mailing list.)
You can also get a digest of messages.

Additional information is available from <http://www.w3.org/WAI/IG/#mailinglist>

Thank you,
~Shawn
