Firstly remarkably few people ever explore the options available. Secondly you generally have to set it for all pages; some pages are so badly designed that they overwrite themselves (visually) if you don't accept their font sizes, and some may use relative font sizes effectively to aid usability. Nevertheless, I gave up on what Nielsen calls the "tyranny of tiny text" several months ago, and have this option permanently set on the GUI browsers that I use. Nielsen's www.useit.com web site has a good "alert box" article on this from last Autumn, although he seems to have been unaware of the master switch in IE to turn off all author sizes. (I'm not online to get the URL just now.)
