I run ie 5.x and netscape 4.7 al the time side by side with no problem and if you do install ie5 over a previous version, it is possible to roll back unless you know something I don't. I don't know why we got this message but here then is the answer. Greg Rice wrote: > > Hi, > > thanks for offering free software for downloading to use Free ISP services. The trouble required to downlaod and then install the 20+ megs of IE 5, in addition to the fact that MS does not include any Uninstall capability, as well as MS' many other poor business practices - let alone their unethical practices makes it far too much of a nuisance to obtain your software upgrade. I request that you continue to support the versions prior to FreeI Client 2.5 so that I may continue using your services.. > > I wish you luck in providing free service. I would not reccommend participating in such business deals that preclude accessibilty by browsers other than MS products. By definitoin such practices of interferring with business and customers in such an exclusivist manner is racketeering. (Not to mention that it actually violates federal law - the ADA American with Disabilities Act for those who browse with screen reading software and toher non-MS products.) Though you claim browsing is possible without using IE5 it is neither desirable, practical, or good customer service to require a customer to waste over 20 megs of memory storage. > > Let me know when I can get your software upgrade usable with my current Netscape 4.7 browser setup. > > thanks, > > Greg > > ______________________________________________________________ > > Free Internet Access from AltaVista: Get it, share it & win! > http://freeaccess.altavista.com/pika/www/initweb.jsp -- Hands-On Technolog(eye)s ftp://ftp.clark.net/pub/poehlman http://poehlman.clark.net mailto:poehlman@clark.net voice 301-949-7599 end sig.
