WCAG 2.2 i18n objections update

Hi everyone,

As mentioned last week<https://www.w3.org/2023/08/22-ag-minutes#item04>, we are dealing with some WCAG 2.2 objections on internationalisation issues for text-spacing and visual-presentation.

The chairs have had a discussion with some of the objectors, and our staff contact is co-ordinating.

There are some actions coming out of that the group should be aware of:


  1.  Dealing with the two issues on text-spacing and visual-presentation. The immediate outcome is the addition of notes under those criteria:
     *   https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/3347
     *   https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/3351

  2.  Setting up a joint group (AG and i18n) to tackle the other issues raised, potentially adding errata, and updating understanding/technique documents.

  3.  Inviting early participation from the i18n folks with WCAG 3.0 work.

We’ll provide another update when things progress.
