AG Working Group and Silver taskforce members, As we have received substantially positive feedback leading up to this CfC, this CfC is agreed on as a consensus opinion of the working group. This decision will be recorded at https://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/wiki/Decisions. Two objections were raised about updating the draft: 1. The first objection raised concern about lack of progress on addressing comments, particularly around subjectivity. Work on subjectivity led to many of the changes in the working draft including the inclusion of quantifiable tests, qualitative tests and assertions. The AG has been considering issues as part of group conversation and work. We will be responding to issues from the FPWD in August. The plan to publish and address comments was discussed on 11 July 2023. Responding to many issues requires that the WCAG 3 draft be published prior to addressing the outstanding questions, as the answers to those questions have substantial reliance on the published draft. 2. The second objection raised concern about the value of publishing this working draft. It was considered, but W3C process asks groups to publish Working Drafts when there have been substantive changes, or when 6 months have elapsed. Both are true for WCAG 3. Kind regards, Rachael ________________________________ From: Bradley Montgomery, Rachael L <rmontgomery@loc.gov> Sent: Monday, July 17, 2023 1:46 PM To: WCAG <w3c-wai-gl@w3.org>; Silver TF <public-silver@w3.org> Subject: CFC - Update WCAG 3 Working Draft (Corrected) Call For Consensus — ends Thursday July 21st at 2pm Boston time. We previously agreed update the WCAG 3 Working Draft from the Editor's Draft<https://w3c.github.io/silver/guidelines/>. (May 2nd Resolution<https://www.w3.org/2023/05/02-ag-minutes.html#resolution01>) Our pre-cfc email<https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-gl/2023JulSep/0005.html> didn't raise any additional concerns. If you have concerns about this proposed consensus position that have not been discussed already and feel that those concerns result in you “not being able to live with” this decision, please let the group know before the CfC deadline. Kind regards, Rachael
