RE: TPAC

Sorry, premature send...

Hi everyone,

I had a question from someone about TPAC, and thought this response would be useful for anyone new(ish) to the group that hasn't been to TPAC before.
-----------------
As a member of the group you are welcome to TPAC in whatever capacity you can make it.

It is basically a very long (2 day) version of our teleconferences, broken into various larger topics. (And with coffee/food provided for those who are there!) For 2019 it's likely to focus on Silver conformance and WCAG 2.2, TBC.

Remote participation will be available, but we don't find out what the facilities are like until we get there. In the best cases they have good audio and a webex setup, and remote participation is like a regular teleconf. Worst case we have to rely on whatever (consumer level) audio tech Andrew or I bring, and in a large room that doesn't work very well.

The other factor is the time difference, it's about 8 hours difference for me, so whatever 9-5 is in Japan is the time for the meeting... https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meetingtime.html?iso=20190919&p1=248&p2=136&p3=43

So asynchronous participation is the safest route, the agenda will be published in advance: https://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/wiki/Meetings/TPAC_2019

Anything coming out of the meetings (like just about everything) will be available, and the meeting minutes will be a good place to get the links. Last time I did an overview of TPAC like this: https://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/wiki/Write_up_from_TPAC_2018

Kind regards,

-Alastair
