Re: Question about outside monitoring of AGWG calls last fall

Brooks,
I don’t have any recollection about that. All of our work is public, so this is possible, but I’m not aware of it being arranged.

Thanks,

Subject: Question about outside monitoring of AGWG calls last fall

Hi All,

In advance of the deadline for providing feedback on the WCAG 2.1 process, I wanted to see if I could get some answers, which I think will inform responses from the group to that survey.

I wanted to ask about something that I heard on a AGWG call last fall, which to my knowledge no one ever followed up with an explanation or conclusion to the whole group. Tell me if I’m wrong, but I remember someone making mention that there was going to be a person or group monitoring our AGWG calls for a period of time to verify that the group was following the proper protocols and processes. Unless my memory fails me here, I think this observation was all about gauging the transparency of our process. I think the monitoring was mentioned once, then never referenced again, at least during meetings that I attended. I wasn’t sure if that was an outside agency, or if it was someone from the W3C, or if I’m completely misremembering that issue altogether.

Can anyone let me know if there was someone monitoring our calls for a period of time to gauge the transparency of our process, who that was, and what their conclusion was?

Thanks for Your Help,

Brooks
