Sometimes what seems like a garden path is purposeful journey. A couple of right turns and we're back to the original question. To answer the question "Does this input pass the 'Label in Name' SC", you've got to know whether or not you've got a name. I think that was the original gist of Glenda's question. But to answer this question in full, you've also got to know whether or not you've got a label. My thought is that with placeholder text alone, you don't have a proper label. In my understand of the definition of label, proper labels don't disappear from the visual interface when you interact with the corresponding input. So, the question is "Does a paragraph of instruction count as a label, with regard to the 'Label in Name' SC?" And no one disputed what I said, because I hadn't asked it yet. Brooks -----Original Message----- From: Patrick H. But that's orthogonal to the original question. P -- Patrick H.
