Re: CFC - Changes to Target Size for Issue 631

-1 after considering how we arrived at the one dimension solution, and
reading what others (Steve, Alex, Patrick, Alastair, Jake, Brooks) have
said on the list.

My only reason for not opting for the 44x22 compromise (the current
draft) was the strong indication that the SC would be marked as being at
risk and probably not pass beyond CR. Jake's impromptu proposal of a
simplified SC (44x44 with text links exempt) seemed attractive but once
you start probing, issues appear - is that text link exeption just for
inline text? Would lists of links (including drop-down menus) be exempt?
Would we not want to assure there is some relaxed requirement for them
(that was how we arrived at 44x22)? Etc, etc.

I also think that the spacing issue Alex emphasized and Alastair
supported is relevant - we actually had spacing included very early on
in a formulation that came out of the MATF disussions which I am too
lazy to dig up now.

This damn thing has gone through so many iterations and we are still not
there. I would still support a version that spells out both dimensions,
referencing the default font height for the dimension that isn't 44px,
even though I find it hardly satisfying. Just to put it on the map at
AA. But as this doesn't seem to get consensus, maybe it is best to
retain the AAA version and tackle AA again with WCAG 2.2.
