Re: CFC - Changes to Target Definition for Issues 671 and 261

Clarification – the Target Definition and the updates to the target SC are in different pull requests, so the target definition is in a version of the 2.1 document that does not yet have the updated SC text. This doesn’t affect the definition though

If the CfC is for the current defintion at http://rawgit.com/w3c/wcag21/target/guidelines/index.html#dfn-target<https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Frawgit.com%2Fw3c%2Fwcag21%2Ftarget%2Fguidelines%2Findex.html%23dfn-target&data=02%7C01%7Cakirkpat%40adobe.com%7C774a560d12614970a5a508d5587ae898%7Cfa7b1b5a7b34438794aed2c178decee1%7C0%7C0%7C636512207260655060&sdata=dmPUhgJxSwQ78K2uHk5aia9afprzleKE7%2FeRtDRlkSw%3D&reserved=0>

then +1

(while noting that the link Andrew provided was to the actual SC 2.5.3 Target Size, which still shows the measurements at 44 X 22 px...)

The Working Group has discussed a change to the Target definition in response to issues 671 and 261 (https://github.com/w3c/wcag21/issues/671<https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fw3c%2Fwcag21%2Fissues%2F671&data=02%7C01%7Cakirkpat%40adobe.com%7C774a560d12614970a5a508d5587ae898%7Cfa7b1b5a7b34438794aed2c178decee1%7C0%7C0%7C636512207260655060&sdata=RYhOdPy3%2Bxw97l%2FQI4BbcnChEJVs1wgjHmPyLqgroDo%3D&reserved=0> and https://github.com/w3c/wcag21/issues/261<https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fw3c%2Fwcag21%2Fissues%2F261&data=02%7C01%7Cakirkpat%40adobe.com%7C774a560d12614970a5a508d5587ae898%7Cfa7b1b5a7b34438794aed2c178decee1%7C0%7C0%7C636512207260655060&sdata=skOxbOtsk8d5aHHstEmgORZz14IrM8T%2Fj3EWSTw48%2FM%3D&reserved=0>). This was not discussed on a call but over email and github, but the changes are largely editorial and do not change the meaning of the definition or SC apart from what was previously identified as needed (changing “touch” to “pointer”).

The specific changes are detailed in this pull request: https://github.com/w3c/wcag21/pull/673<https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fw3c%2Fwcag21%2Fpull%2F673&data=02%7C01%7Cakirkpat%40adobe.com%7C774a560d12614970a5a508d5587ae898%7Cfa7b1b5a7b34438794aed2c178decee1%7C0%7C0%7C636512207260655060&sdata=156OV2b1TiZzXiTmEGuCDtUlcjfpsmdIalkSGxrL45c%3D&reserved=0> (see implemented at http://rawgit.com/w3c/wcag21/target/guidelines/index.html#target-size<https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Frawgit.com%2Fw3c%2Fwcag21%2Ftarget%2Fguidelines%2Findex.html%23target-size&data=02%7C01%7Cakirkpat%40adobe.com%7C774a560d12614970a5a508d5587ae898%7Cfa7b1b5a7b34438794aed2c178decee1%7C0%7C0%7C636512207260655060&sdata=TL5fPNVQNWOQfrp80QNihAcjJm%2FMF9qR%2Bn3eYSR15bQ%3D&reserved=0> - follow the definition in the SC).

If you have concerns about this proposed consensus position that have not been discussed already and feel that those concerns result in you “not being able to live with” this decision, please let the group know before the CfC deadline.
