Hi Folks,
Here is the list of widely recognized control types, chunked as per John's proposal. I also added and chucked the form fields. I added context as per Jason's request and some extra clarity. Ironically the only items that did not have the context of the "user" or "site" were the definitions I had copied from autocomplete.


I removed the items John wanted to remove other that "mode" and "tools" which i tagged.

Widely recognized control types that are required by SC 1.3.4:
  
 Navigation actions      
 ·         table of content              -opens a table of content

 ·         next       -move to the next item in a series, such as a series of pages in a book
 ·         previous              -move to the previous item in a series, such as a series of pages in a book 
                 
 UI / Page Actions         
 ·         sign in   -sign in to current website or application
 ·         sign out -sign out current website or application
 ·         sign up  -register for the current web site or application
 ·         upload  -upload file to the server
 ·         more     -expand or unexpand the current item
 ·         refresh -manually refresh the current contents of the screen
 ·         print      -print current page, selection or the item at the current location
 ·         reset     -resets all the controls to their initial values
 ·         comment -submit a comment on the current item
 ·         settings -open settings and options for the current web site or application
 ·         tools      -available tools for the current content, website or application (++John would like to remove++)
 ·         date       -opens a date control
 ·         mode    -change the mode or functionality (++John would like to remove++)
 ·         higher   -increases the level the setting that is identified with the control.
 ·         lower    -decreases the level the setting that is identified with the control.
                 
 Editing Actions 
 ·         open     -open existing item
 ·         new       -open or compose a new item, such as an email, online document, etc.
 ·         edit        -edit current item, selection, or the item at the current location
 ·         cut          -removes the selected control, item, or text and places it on the clipboard (Temporary memory of the device)
 ·         copy      -copies the selected control, item, or text onto the clipboard (Temporary memory of the device)
 ·         paste     -adds the current contents of the clipboard (Temporary memory of the device)
 ·         save       -save the current content
 ·         send      -submits form data or request to the server
 ·         post       - submit and posts the form data. Item will be visible to other parties.
 ·         delete   -delete the current item, selected control, or text
 ·         undo     -revert to the state before the user's most recent changes
 ·         cancel  -closes a dialog box or similar container, and discards all changes the user may have made within that dialog box or container.
 ·         close      -closes a dialog box or similar container, and discards any unsaved changes the user may have made within that dialog box or container
                 
 Email Actions 
 ·         read       -open the selected email. 
 ·         reply      -reply to a selected  item such as an email 
 ·         forward  -forward the selected email such as an email
 ·         received -open the received folder
 ·         sent       -open the sent folder
  
 Shopping Actions        
 ·         add        -add the selected item from it’s current context. If no item is selected add the item identified with the control.
 ·         remove -remove the selected  item from it’s current context. If no item is selected remove the item identified with the control.
 ·         buy        -buy the selected item. If no item is selected, buy the item identified with the control. Often involves adding the current item into a shopping cart.
 ·         checkout             -proceed to the purchase stage. Usually invokes ecommerce functions such as accepting credit cards, redirection to PayPal, etc.

 ·         contact us           -contact information for content owner or producer
