Greetings Jon, I have been a member of the larger Web on TV IG for a few years now. I'm also tracking the Cloud Browser TF under the same IG. The members of the IG have been very supportive and engaged around accessibility, and we've chatted in the past about how the Second Screen could be used to provide the kinds of ideas you noted (for example, providing captions to the second screen for Grandpa), and I suspect that this API may play an important part of the Cloud Browser initiative regarding user input. That said, APA is sort of tracking the larger effort, but if you have interest and cycles, another accessibility SME within the Web on TV IG would be welcome. I will follow up with you more upon my return to the States. I wanted to find out if there has been any connection with this group (or community group) in regards to accessibility. Perhaps accessibility of these second screens is less an issue about the API and more about the user agents – but it is something we could keep on the radar. Is there anything related to accessibility that you think should be included in a charter? For example, second screens can be interactive and not just passive devices. People using assistive technology such as touch screen AT interact with the device with more than just the pointer location.
