EPUB appear to be using a subset of it in their Media Overlays specification, supporting, for example, synchronized text and audio books. Version 3.0 is an IDPF standard; the draft of version 3.1 is at http://www.idpf.org/epub/31/spec/epub-mediaoverlays.html I strongly suspect the use of SMIL is inherited from the DAISY standards, which also depend on it. ________________________________ This e-mail and any files transmitted with it may contain privileged or confidential information.
