HI All I've spent a day going through the Open Ajax Alliance WCAG Checks rule set and making notes. The OAA team has clearly done a tremendous effort and I would like to leverage some of these these rules for WCAG, especially the ones around ARIA which we have not completely tackled in WCAG yet. At the bottom of the document I present a number of these failures to the group for considerations for failures. I would place the Rule IDs in several categories. 1. Failures that are currently covered in WCAG 2. Failures that I think SHOULD be required but would need consensus 3. Failures that have exceptions listed in the rule set that are a little ambiguous, that would have to be carefully defined if they were to be proposed as common failures. 4. Failures that have been well discussed in the WCAG group and could not get necessary consensus and therefore are not required by WCAG (such as nested headings). I've put up a page with comments. http://davidmacd.com/WCAG/review-of-ruleset-OAA.html The original rule set is here http://fae20.cita.illinois.edu/rulesets/rc/ Cheers, David MacDonald *Can**Adapt* *Solutions Inc.* Tel: 613.235.4902 LinkedIn <http://www.linkedin.com/in/davidmacdonald100> twitter.com/davidmacd GitHub <https://github.com/DavidMacDonald> www.Can-Adapt.com <http://www.can-adapt.com/> * Adapting the web to all users* * Including those with disabilities* If you are not the intended recipient, please review our privacy policy <http://www.davidmacd.com/disclaimer.html>
