Re: Completed Captcha action item 264

Hello all,

I'm not sure that we can call this an "alternative" to CAPTCHAs. I don't
think its main purpose is to "tell computers and humans apart", but to
collect private data that might be used later for other purposes. Indeed
it has severe privacy implications, and anyway it relies on the user
having a mobile phone, which may not be the case.

Of course, the above issues affect all users, so we may consider this
method to be "accessible", but I would not consider it a valid method to
replace an otherwsie inaccessible CAPTCHA, which IMO is the definition
of "alternative". If you completely suppress the CAPTCHA then the new
method you use is simply a different thing.

Regards,
Ramón.
