WCAG Group, Thanks to all who suffered through the very long doodle poll - it was really helpful and gives us some good data. The goal of the meeting time change is to shift from the primarily North American-centric current time to encourage more participation, particularly in the many European countries and toward China where there is new W3C involvement. Based on the data provided, the time of day that seems to work best is 4pm-5:30 GMT. This does achieve the goal of making the time better for western, central, and eastern Europe, but comes at the cost of earlier times for the US west coast and even more so, Australia. Inevitably, the proposed change is better for some, worse for others. A comparison of the times and impact on a selection of time zones is below. Comparison of meeting times: New York Sydney, AUS Shanghai San Francisco London Current time 4pm 6am 4am 1pm 8pm Proposed time 11am 1am 11pm 8am 4pm The day of the week is the second part of the question, and this was simplified by the fact that the HTML Techniques task force meets on Mondays, the HTML5 Accessibility group meets on Thursdays, and there is not sufficient capacity for Zakim on Wednesday. Based on the number of participants available, Tuesday and Thursday are the best days for the Doodle respondents at the 4-5:30 GMT time. As a result, we propose moving the meeting time to 4:00pm-5:30pm GMT on Tuesdays. I apologize for those of you for whom the time doesn't match times you selected in Doodle as available. Please think on this, we will add this item to our survey for next week's meeting to discuss and finalize our decision, and set the date for the first meeting at the new time.
