RE: Update on a "Set of Applications" example

Andi,

· Each application can be opened independently from their .exe

· Each application can launch the other applications from their application menu

· Each has their own file extensions and can be launch by double clicking the file

o Charts are saved as a .cha

o Data Manager imports .unv, .rti (previous versions: .idx, .jnv)

o Chartbooks are saved as a .chb

§ If a chart was linked in a Chartbook, double clicking would open Charts

§ If a chart was embedded in a Chartbook, double clicking would open Charts in place (OLE)

My contact is willing to give a demo of the product after he returns from his vacation over Thanksgiving week. The time that’s best for him is in the afternoons Pacific. Beyond a demo, he’d have to do more checking. Let me know if you’d like me to set something up.

Robin,

Can each of these apps be started independently or do you always begin with the same "parent app" and then invoke the others from the parent?

The product has been decommissioned for several years but was still being sold until just recently. My first contact attempt has sent me on to another contact in the company who is going to check with Product Management to see if they can provide me with a copy if the application and if so, any restrictions.

I’ll provide another update at the Thursday meeting.

Thanks,
Robin
