Regrets... I've got a meeting at 3:30.... however, I'll carry my cell phone with me... 613-806-9005 ... I've provided a friendly amendment to the first issue... if you need to contact me to clear it, you can call me, and I'll interrupt my meeting to discuss any amendments or make any explanations... https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/35422/WCAG2ICT-3/results I'm nervous about the current language proposal for 2.4.6 (or in text)... because it fails to provide context for "or available in text per 1.3.1" . It may cause confusion, even though it is articulated in the sentence says that "structure and relationships" (not TEXT headings themselves) are necessary. In 5 years of helping people with WCAG I've seen this type of misunderstanding proliferate. SO I'm asking for a bit more redundancy in the sentence to make it clear that TEXT Headings are not good enough... Also, the Understanding of 1.3.1 makes it pretty strong that text should only be used if there is no programmatic way to associate them... "Some technologies do not provide a means to programmatically determine some types of information and relationships. In that case then there should be a text description of the information and relationships ..." Friendly amendment: "Note: This success criterion does not REQUIRE heading and labels. Rather it requires that if they are provided, they be descriptive. Also note that, if headings are provided, their structure and relationship must be programmatically determined (or their structure and relationship described in text) per 1.3.1." Cheers David MacDonald PS I have my cell with me before the call also... CanAdapt Solutions Inc.
