In trying to simplify the WCAG I will be posting some thoughts / proposals These have to do with 2.3.1 and 2.3.2 1) I think that 2.3.1 is easier to read and use if we change "UNLESS" to "OR" 2) I think 2.3.1 and 2.3.2 should be structured and worded similarly 3) I think we should change "components that flash" to "anything that flashes" 2.3.1 Now reads 2.3.1 Flash Threshold: Content does not flash more than 3 times in any one second period unless the flash is below the general flash threshold <http://w#general-thresholddef> and the red flash threshold <http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/2007/04/flash-proposal.htm#red-thresholddef> . <http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/WCAG20/WD-UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20-20070220/Overview.h tml#seizure-does-not-violate> Proposed new wording 2.3.1 Three Flashes or Threshold: Content does not contain anything that flashes more than 3 times in any one second period or the flash is below the general flash threshold <http://w#general-thresholddef> and the red flash threshold <http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/2007/04/flash-proposal.htm#red-thresholddef> . <http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/WCAG20/WD-UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20-20070220/Overview.h tml#seizure-does-not-violate> This also matches better with 2.3.2 which reads: 2.3.2 Flashes < 4: Content does not contain any components that flash more than three times in any 1-second period. Which I suggest we change to just 2.3.2 Three Flashes: Content does not contain anything that flash more than 3 times in any 1-second period.
