On yesterday's call (15 December) I took an action to propose new wording for SC 2.2.5. <proposed> 2.2.5 Interruptions, such as updated content, can be postponed by the user, except interruptions involving an emergency. </proposed> <current> 2.2.5 Interruptions, such as updated content, can be postponed or suppressed by the user, except those involving an emergency. </proposed> Discussion I propose two changes: 1. Deleted the phrase "or suppressed." As discussed on the call yesterday, if updates are "suppressed" then users will not be able to recover the suppressed information even if they want it. By contrast, if updates can be "postponed," then users can choose to retrieve the information if they wish (though they can also choose not to do so). 2. Replaced the pronoun "those" with the noun "interruptions" to avoid any ambiguity about pronoun reference. John "Good design is accessible design." Dr. John M.
