Issue 1488 Should L3 SC1 be removed?
concern about tools to generate collated transcripts
resolution: captions + audio descriptions would constitute a sufficient
solution
no one supports moving this from level 3 to level 2 (even though is
priority
1 in WCAG 1.0, as part of checkpoint 1.1)
unclear that audio description is part of transcript as worded, "For
prerecorded multimedia content, a combined transcript of captions and audio
descriptions of video is available."
we mean "collated transcript" but were trying to avoid that phrase
<scribe> ACTION: gian propose rewrite of guideline 1.1 L3 sc 1 [recorded in
[13]http://www.w3.org/2005/10/06-wai-wcag-minutes.html#action01]
resolution: reword but don't remove 1.1 l3 sc1
Revise example 2 and close issue 1561
concern that short label should provide the info that could be easily
gleaned from a quick glance at the bar chart
concern about use of word "label" - a very charged word
use text alternative instead
a short text alternative says...a longer description...
resolution: Example 2: a data chart. A bar chart compares how many widgets
were sold in June, July, and August. A short text alternative says, "Figure
one - Bar chart of sales in June, July and August." A longer description
identifies the type of chart, provides a high-level summary of the data
comparable to that available from the chart, and provides the data in a
table
close issue 1561
resolution: Example 8: a traffic Web camera. A Web site allows end-users to
select from a variety of Web cameras positioned throughout a major city to
monitor traffic conditions. After a camera is selected, the image updates
every 2 minutes. A short text alternative identifies the Web camera as,
"Web
camera view of traffic conditions at the corner of University and
Park." The
site also...
... provides a table of travel times for each of the routes covered by the
Web cameras. The table information can be updated on request.
then close issue 1562
resolution: Close issue 1698
Issue 1703
resolution: close issue 1703
issue 895
resolution: close issue 895
feedback on Guide to Guideline 3.2 Level 1 Success Criterion 1
and guides for 3.2 Level 3 Success Criterion 1 and Guideline 3.2 Level 3
Success Criterion 2 - team a will take that feedback back to the group.
